Secret Pal Question #4

I've missed a couple of questions and was happy to see these two easier questions:

1) What yarn (that you don’t have/haven’t used) would make your stash “complete”? I have never tried cashmere yarn and think it would be neat to have a little sample.

2) What yarn do you never want to be without?
I'm really loving the Malabrigo worsted and lace weight yarns.  I also love Dream in Color Smooshy and Classy.  Don't really need any of the Smooshy until they release some new colors, though.

Thank you Secret Pal!

My terrific Secret Pal made a special effort to send me a box in time for my birthday tomorrow.  That's pretty special considering that the swap officially started a few days ago.

My birthday goodies included 2 bars of dark chocolate, a neat Japanese notepad, a copy of Cookie A's Monkey sock pattern and a gorgeous skein of yarn from Pagewood Farm.  It is so soft and squishy.  The name of the sock yarn is Denali and the colorway is named "Greens".

Thanks so much my Secret Pal for making this birthday extra special!

SP 12 Question

Today, the hostesses of the Secret Pal 12 swap asked everyone to answer a question:

What is your favorite summertime drink? I love iced-tea, no lemon please, in the summertime. Well, all year round really. At home, I make it decaf but enjoy a glass of the fully leaded while eating out. Another favorite is lemonade.

In other SP related stuff, I have ordered my first item to send to my pal. Of course, I'm not giving anything away but must say that it is a pretty cool item. Another order may be placed in the future so I can have one, too. My first package will be going out in the next few days.

Secret Pal time again

I have signed up for the next round of the Secret Pal swap. Just finished updating my questionnaire and looking forward to getting my partner matchup.

I thought that the hexagon afghan would be finished today, but have decided that it needs to be at least one row wider. That means at least 11 more hex units need to be made up before I can call this one done. I'm not too happy about it, but will soldier onward and get this thing done soon. Here's a nifty new Ravelry tool to link you up to the project page for this afghan. Sorry if you aren't a member yet, but you should be if you are a yarn crafter!

Secret Pal 11

My final reveal package came today from my super Secret Pal, Bethanie.  This last package included 3 skeins of a cute yarn I hadn't seen.  It's Get Away from Knit Picks in the colorway Hiking.  Bethanie also sent me nifty little knitting diary for 2008.

Thank you for being a great swap partner, Bethanie.  I appreciate everything you sent and look forward to some great new projects.

Secret Pal thank yous

I've fallen behind again in thanking my super Secret Pal.  I have pictures of two packages to post today.  She's spoiling me rotten!!

The first shot shows the two skeins of Bartlett yarn and the package of delicious tea that were in the first package.  There was also a cute Kitty patch in that box.

Here is the second package.  It included a cute Mary Engelbreit calendar, yummy cinnamon scented candle, a little note pad titled "Life Without Change is Boring" and a package of Italian notecards and envelopes.

Thank you so much for everything, my dear Secret Pal!!

Dear Secret Pal

Thanks so much for a fun package!  I received the box several days ago and finally was able to do a proper photo shoot today.

The gifts included 4 skeins of the very soft Valley Yarns Longmeadow in Periwinkle, a pattern for striped arm warmers from the book Pretty in Pink, a crocheted skull magnet, and Daphne the Dolphin Kritter craft case.   Here's a closer look a Daphne and the pretty yarn.

Thanks again, my Secret Pal 11.
