The Book Artist Zine
I've held off on posting a picture of my altered book spread that was published in Kathy Wasilewski's The Book Artist. I didn't want to steal any of the spotlight from Issue #3 while it was still available. Now that #3 is a sellout, I will include a photograph for posterity.
I was lucky enough to be selected as a participant in Kathy's Metal Challenge for Issue #3. Several people were sent identical kits of goodies to be used in any way the artist chose. Could have been a scrapbook page, altered book pages or some other altered item. I used my little bits of metal to create a rose themed spread. It was fun to see how different all of our spreads were when the zine arrived.
The hardest part of the entire project was writing up a description of how the pages were made. I was either to brief or too long-winded, but finally came up with something that seemed o.k.
Kathy is making some changes to her publication policy, so be sure to order the November issue ahead of time. You won't want to miss what is sure to be a great edition. The first three were fabulous and offered many great ideas and free goodies.
