Shedir

I am slogging along on Shedir.  The progress is so slow!  There are a lot of cable crossings to make.  2 pattern rows have 64 crossings in each row.  This hat will be finished-I'm stubborn that way, but it will be the only Shedir I make.

Here's my tiny bit of progress after what seems like weeks of knitting--at least the Rowan Calmer is a pleasure to knit:

Weekend!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I've had a pretty lazy two days and done a lot of knitting.  Two projects have been started in the past week or so--1  Baby Surprise Jacket and 1 Shedir.

As I posted before, I was quite envious of all the bloggers able to join Ravelry.  A few days ago, I was lucky enough to receive an invitation from Elisa at Concateknit.  The timing was just right when she offered up some invites on her blog.  Ravelry is an amazing site with such great potential.  Great for the knitter, not so great for the wallet.  My sock yarn stash has grown in just a few days.  It is so great to see photos of projects that other people have posted without having to search all over blogdom to find what you need.  Hopefully, it won't be much longer until we can all get together.  There is still lots of behind-the-scenes work being done as quickly as possible.

My Memorial Day weekend will be extended by a couple of vacation days and I am so ready for the time off.  My company gets no holiday between New Year's Day and Memorial Day--it has been a long six months!  If you are celebrating, enjoy.  If not, have great week anyway.  I leave you with a quick picture of a sure sign that summer is almost here:

Yes, that is our first homegrown tomato of the season.  Very small variety called "Sweet Olive", but quite tasty.

Finished socks

I finished and blocked the pink socks from "Knitting Vintage Socks". The Lisa Souza yarn is great to work with and I'd definitely make these again.

I'm starting this post with a pretty picture since I'm not really inspired by anything else at the moment.

The first of the pink socks from my last post is finished. The second will follow after I finish the scarf for my swap partner. That might be later today.

Since my last post, I received the first shipment from the Under Cover Club by The Yarn Grove. The club info doesn't seem to be on the site any longer, but it involves a skein of yarn and two patterns for afghan squares in each shipment. The O-Wool yarn is nice to work with and should make a pretty cover.

Have you heard about Ravelry.com? Check the link for info if you haven't heard. I'm still waiting for my invitation to become a member. Hope it won't take too much longer-I'm turning green from envy while reading blogs of people that are members.
