Tangles

Just a quick post for today. I am literally down to the toe on my 12th pair of socks for Socktoberfest. I never made my goal public, but I challenged myself to make 12 pairs of socks for CIC this month. Pictures and mailing date to follow in a few days.

Knitters Tea Swap2

Thank you to Jamie P. for being such a generous Secret Tea Swapper! Jamie sent me a hefty box of goodies including, 3 kinds of tea (all new to me), a tea ball, Cadbury biscuits in dark chocolate, another box of cookie wafers covered in chocolate, a Canadian candy bar, Eucalan, a skein of Step Aloe and Jojoba yarn by Austermann, a red skein of Manos de Uruguay and a very pretty tea set.

Thank you so much, Jamie!! I love everything and can't wait to try the tea and sweets.

How Cool is This?

I had an email this morning from Where's George. A $1.00 bill that I logged in was found by someone and re-entered into the database. The wild thing is that it took almost 2.5 years and 2,255 miles for this to happen. Makes me want to gather up a few bills and enter them.

Chocolate Swap

This photo shows the goodies that I received from my Chocolate swap partner, Kim. Is she great or what? There are 2 balls of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino and 3 of Nature Spun. The chocolate goodies are just as awesome. They include a box of Godiva chocolates, Dove Almonds, Bourbon Balls, several candy bars, M&M-flavored lip gloss, 2 packages of Choxsie brand candy and a cute little journal.

Saturday Sky

This is the first time I've posted a Saturday Sky photo. I was up early and went for a walk and caught these shots near sunrise:

Yes, it was so early that the moon was still up--how crazy is that to be up and out so early on a Saturday morning?

The water is the flood control channel very near our home.

I got lucky with this hummingbird shot.

Socktoberfest 2006

Socktoberfest officially begins today. (I can't belive that it's October--this year moved way to fast.) My sock plans for the month will center on a big push for Children in Common. This will also help decrease the size of my stash of worsted weight yarns. I use my favorite sock pattern and mix strands of yarn to make heavy socks on size US8 needles.
