My sweet Secret Pal in the Knitter's Review swap sent me a copy of Lavish Lace. A quick run through tells me that I am going to enjoy these patterns. Thanks so much for being such a generous Secret Pal.
Marguerite at Stitches of Violet has shared a new pattern for a toddler size sock for CIC. The mini basket weave pattern is really cute and easy to work up. I will post a photo of mine soon. I'm only working two days next weeks and look forward to some extra knitting time over the holiday weekend.
Last week, I finished up the cat mat from Knits From the Heart using four colors of Lambs Pride worsted. Photo on the left is the unfelted version and on the right is after three runs through the washer. Of course, now that it is finished the cats won't show any interest at all. I knew going in that it was just for my felting enjoyment anyway.
I finished one waffle hat last week and I'm currently working on another in navy blue Plymouth Encore. Just shoot me now--I hate knitting with dark yarn. My eyes, my eyes. This is a special-request gift hat, so what choice do I have? Not every teenage boy will ask his aunt for a beanie, you know?

Oreo has done many goofy things in her life, but I think tonight tops them all. I looked down just as she was climbing into the little wastebasket we have here in the living room.
