101 Things in 1001 Days
Here is my list of 101 to complete in the next 1001 days. Some should be simple to complete, some will take much more time and effort. My 1001 days will begin on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 and end on Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Learn more about the challenge at Day Zero. Many thanks to Eliza for the idea and inspiration.
In no particular order other than off the top of my head:
Bolded items have been completed
1. finish knitting my first ever adult-sized sweater
2. organize older photos into albums
3. keyword current photos in iPhoto
4. learn 10 new things about Mac OS10 Leopard
5. grow enough tomatoes to can my own salsa again
6. keep a list of fiction books read-see online list here
7. donate at least 25 pairs of socks to Children in Common-2/25
8. finish knitting a shawl
9. attend a Dodgers or Angels baseball game
10. finish the Babette blanket
11. finish the Hexagon afghan
12. make a handmade book to use as a journal
13. use the journal in #12
14. make family recipe binders
15. take a vacation in Hawaii
16. visit and photograph family tombstones for genealogy project
17. make one new recipe per month of the challenge (3/33)
18. do a major declutter of bedroom (at least 1 hour per week until finished)
19. save $1.00 in cash in a special bank for each day of the challenge
20. create some sort of paper/collage art every month (3/33)
21. update blog once a week-not doing so great on this one
22. make at least 3 kid-size sweaters/vests for CIC (2/3)
23. finish Great American Afghan project
24. learn to use my Spindolyn
25. carve a stamp for letterboxing
26. find a letterbox to use #25
27. visit Bolsa Chica once per month (2/33)
28. visit Monterey Bay
29. use the gift certificate to Skin Deep
30. finish all Christmas shopping on or before Dec. 15 at least once
31. participate in Project 365 for 365 consecutive days-67/365 since 1-1-08
32. make a list of 100 things that make me happy
33. make out a will
34. send 3 postcards per month via Postcrossing (3/99)
35. drink 24-32 oz. of water every day for 30 days
36. keep a written list of all knitted finished items
37. get a decent haircut at least every 3 months
38. get my first professional pedicure
39. think about dyeing my hair to cover the grays (no promises, though)
40. use my credits at Audible.com instead of accumulating them
50. Leave at least 2 positive blog or Ravelry comments per week (1/66)
51. clean out and reorganize my closet
52. make at least 1 postcard per month for #34 (o/33)
53. post tombstone photos at FindAGrave.com (see #16)
54. learn about using the RAW setting on my camera
55. use more vacation days before they are lost
56. make and donate 6 Chemo caps for Caps For A Cure
57. file important paperwork in storage box
58. build up ING account with at least $25.00 deposit per month
59. purge at least 50% of paper crafting supplies
60. start a 6-month book buying freeze (pre-orders don't count)-I've written this one off already, sorry, just can't do it
61. cleanup craft area (see #59)
62. knit a project with cables - Great American Afghan
63. make up my own knitting pattern using a stitch dictionary
64. make 1 project from the quilt book I received as a gift
65. lose 5 pounds
66. lose 10 pounds
67. lose 20 pounds
68. lose 30 pounds
69. lose 40 pounds
70. lose 50 pounds
71. buy an iPod Touch as a reward after completing #70
72. weigh-in and record online every Saturday, even when I know it will be bad news(6/?)
73. make new hats for C & J's birthday in 2008
74. make yearly deposit to IRA account
75. get an eye exam in 2008
76. have eyebrows professionally shaped and maintain them
77. look at each page of the Knitting Pattern a Day calendar on the actual day (7/366)
78. organize and send photos to ScanMyPhotos.com for transfer to CD's
79. buy new sheets and comforter set for my bed
80. make regular blog updates about the challenge
81. organize genealogy files and books, donating unused items to HBPL
82. use my pedometer
83. buy a new car
84. complete level 1 of TKGA master's program
85. dye some yarn
86. load at least 25 photos onto new digital picture frame
87. buy or make new bedroom curtains
88. go through my closet and get rid of anything I haven't worn in 2 years
89. mark and release at least 25 bills for Wheresgeorge.com
90. vote in all elections for the duration of the challenge
91. clean and de-clutter desk and keep it clean for 7 days in a row
92. try a new restaurant
93. learn more about Mint.com and then try out the service--tried it, didn't like it
94. check into learning Spanish
95. try fasting
96. visit the Friday farmer's market at the pier
97. give away beading supplies that I will never use
98. make cinnamon rolls from scratch-no bread machine, either
99. see a movie in a theater before it comes out on video
100. donate $2.00 to charity for each unfinished item at the end of 1001 days
101. enjoy the process of meeting my goals in 1001 days!
