I have slowed way down on digital work lately. I have been working on some paper projects, knitting and working on genealogy, too. Seeing samples of printed scrapbooks from Shutterfly has me itching to work on a special project. More info to follow after the giftee receives the book.

A bit of green inspiration

Lisa Vollrath has a nice 2007 St. Patrick's Countdown Calendar posted at Ten Two Studios. There are some very nice printable images available, but don't wait too long.

Thanks, Lisa!

I posted this on my new Photo Blog, but wanted to include it here, too. This shows the mess of old photos that I am working to get organized for my Library of Memories class. Makes me wish I'd never taken the photo!

Day4_2

Not quite sure how I will do this, but I have commited to the posting contest at the new forums for Scrapbookgraphics. Why not join the fun and have a chance to get a great free kit, too. Here is the post with all the info.

Christmas Journal Manifesto

I'm posting this in hopes that it will motivate me to keep up with the daily prompts. Thanks, Shimelle!

Manifesto: Noun. A declaration of one's intentions.

Starting December first, I will keep a Christmas journal. In it, I will write something every day to reflect on the holidays of my past, enjoy the holidays of the present and dream about the holidays of my future. To some, this will be a stack of papers and trivial scribbles, but not to me. I am taking back my Christmas, I am letting it be something I relish and, most importantly, I am giving at least fifteen minutes every day to myself no matter how crazy this season becomes. I hope you will share, encourage and understand as I make something with my own hands, my own words and my own memories.

I may post some or all of my entries here. Other artists are doing this with me, and you can see their work here. Or you may join us.

Above all: enjoy the season. I will.

Oreo

Here's that newest layout of Oreo:

Diva_oreoweb

I used a template by Misty Cato. The corduroy background is from the Scrapbookgraphics Basics Collection kit. All other papers and elements from "Pretty Cat" by Poppy Andrews. Font for the nameplate is KGD Lindsay by Kimberly Geswein. I also used Traci Murphy's drop shadow actions.

I have been finding inspiration in so many places. I just need to buckle down, clean up the scrapping area and get going. My BPS classes will be starting soon and I've signed up for Shimelle Laine's Journal Your Christmas online class.

Shimelle has also posted a very nice online tutorial The Magic in the Middle as part of the UK Scrappers cyber crop weekend. Anyone can participate and have a chance to win prizes, too.

I worked on a digital layout last night, but still need to resize it for posting--back to that later.

Call me nutty

I'm mostly a digital scrapper now, but couldn't resist signing up for Heidi Swapp's A Year to Remember class at Big Picture Scrapbooking. That class doesn't start until January and I was tempted by two December classes and signed up for those, too. I will be taking Twelve Days of Christmas with MyBook and Ornamental Memories. A book about our Christmas decorations has been on my to-do list for quite a long time--I'm using that as my rationale for signing up for 3 classes in such a short time.

I have been a shopping fool in preparation for these classes, which is really crazy. I have a craft room full of unused supplies ~and~ I have to get that room emptied out soon due to a surprise return of one of my little chickie boys. No more empty nest syndrome around here, just lots of new Heidi Swapp goodies.

New Banner

Isn't my new banner pretty? The Shabby Princess is now selling premade blog banners and I bought a couple to try. Very pretty, don't you think?

I also added several new layouts to the Slide show.

I have been working on several digital layouts and decided to revive this poor, neglected blog. I've added new links and deleted a few that were obsolete, too. I'm still shopping way more than scrapping, but trying to change my ways. Check the slide sho to the right to see what I've been working on.

My next two projects will involve lots of photos. I'm rescanning some old family photos to use in more heritage layouts. There is also a book of family reunion photos from last year--yes, I'm behind. Refurbishing the blog design and doing a banner are also on my short list.

Wish me luck, ok.?
